Do you want a socially meaningful part-time job that will help high school students with a corona disadvantage move forward? Become a PAL (Personal Assistant of the Teacher) via the VU and the UvA at a high school in Noord-Holland or Flevoland, and gain useful experience in your own field. You work at least 4 hours a week and earn at least 11 euros per hour. As a PAL you can support in all kinds of ways! PAL! voor de klas is also a part of the national initiative, Studentinzetopschool (see here what is said in the media about it). PAL tells: Robyn I am a third year biology student at the UvA and have been working as a PAL since the beginning of December. I work at the IJburg College in Amsterdam, where I help with the subjects of biology and chemistry. My work includes designing and giving practical assignments, sometimes some grading and also speaking to students if they have questions about the curriculum, which provides a nice variation. My tip for future PALs is to be flexible in your work, things often go slightly differently than you expect!
