New ICT Coordinator: Thies Nieborg

Thies is going to be the new coordinator of the ICT Committee! This is the committee that takes care of all technical matters of via. Think for example of the via website and POS with which you pay for the delicious snacks in the basement. As coordinator, Thies will make sure that everything keeps running smoothly, work afternoons are organised, and that every feature request is answered with: "Do you want this? join the ICT Committee!".

Join Plan International in the fight against sexual violence!

Globally, 1 in 3 women have experienced sexual and/or physical violence. This is not normal and unacceptable. On the night of 20-21 April 2024, Plan International is organising the Night Against Sexual Violence in Amsterdam: a twenty-kilometre walk along places that are not always perceived as safe. We are doing this to make a statement: sexual violence must stop! We want everyone in the world to be able to walk the streets safely at all times. Together with Plan International claim back the night and walk with us!


Thesis sessions and student-help needed!

Do you have trouble sticking to your schedule? Do you suffer from writer's block? Or do you simply enjoy writing with other students? Then come to the Hybrid Thesis Sessions offered by the Library! From April 8 to May 13, there will be a session every Monday from 11:00-18:00 in L0.05 where you can join without obligation. A student host will guide the sessions using the Pomodoro method, focusing on the writing process. A Scientific Writing teacher will also be present from 11:00 to 14:00. Registration is not required, but can be done through this link.

Would you like to contribute and help create puzzles? Then this is your chance! A sample of the last edition can be found here. A small side note: to prevent Abacus from having a puzzle booklet that only contains sudokus, try not to make more than two puzzles of the same "type".
