Coordinating a committee, is there a better place to be?

Hi all. The new academic year has just started. Super fun to see all the familiar faces again, and get to know new freshmen! Hopefully you are settling back into the studying rhythm well.

But of course studying is not the only way to learn, because of course coordinating a committee, besides being a lot of fun, is also very educational! So if you're sitting around hesitating to take up something new, this is your chance! We have many great committees that are waiting for a new coordinator.

New Coordinators

But first: who are the new coordinators?

New Sports Coordinator: Misha Oberski 🏅

The sports committee is also known as the most active committee of via. Many sports activities are organized with the biggest activity being the annual participation with a team in the Batavierenrace. The committee thus aims to keep the average viaan fit between beer drinking 🍻!

Dionne Gantzert re-established this committee a year ago, and in that time she has gotten the club a whole lot more active. For example, competitive activities such as curling, bunker refball and a Color Obstacle Rush have been organized. 🏅 And also some more low-key activities like trampoline jumping, and of course a great dance at EJW 🤩 And last and definitely not least: the Batavierenrace. In this via ran (and partied) very hard. Without her efforts it certainly would not have been such a roaring success. Thanks so much for your time and effort, Dionne! 🫶

Misha Oberski succeeds Dionne as coordinator. She has been there from the beginning last year, helping hard to organize the great activities. With Misha as coordinator, we are definitely going to set a high score at the batavierenrace this year 💪

Coordinator Wanted: Cooking Committee 🧑‍🍳

The cooking committee cooks up a delicious meal every ALV! They also organize other food related activities such as workshops, competitions, and of course the afgelope Toasti Builders! 🧀 Ilse Nederveen coordinated the cooking committee last year, thanks to her a lot of really fun and tasty activities were put together. I myself really enjoyed the whole via bakt! 😋 Thanks for your efforts Ilse, and good luck on your other faculty!

Coordinator Wanted: Photo Committee 📸

The photo committee takes care of photography at via activities, and maintains our wonderful photographic material 🎥 It is the committee that makes you relive the fun via activities, and of course takes care of the fun photos on the basement screen 🌠

Matthias Louws has coordinated the photo committee for the past 1.5 years. Thanks to his efforts, a really super lot of nice pictures have been taken, and most of all they got on the site very quickly! There was also a very cool photography workshop! 🙌 Thanks a lot Matthias and good luck for your master in Utrecht 🎓.

Coordinator Wanted: Train Trip Committee 🚆

The train trip committee is the committee that organizes the train trip in May every year! Every year we go to cool locations 🗺️, where we will explore the city and do cool activities! 🧳

Merlijne Reeuwijk coordinated last year's trip to Berlin. We traveled to this beautiful German capital with 30 students. There we spent a week enjoying the Biergartens🍻, welcomed to Berlin University ✏️, and of course much more. Thank you so much Merline for making the trip possible!

Coordinator Wanted: Elevator Committee 🛗

The elevator committee is responsible for all lift-related activities. This includes organizing an elevator weekend each year to a location to be announced on the date. 🚘

Under the leadership of Pascal Venema, this committee has put down two hitchhiking weekends, the most recent of which went to Oosterhout and Antwerp 🇧🇪 Where participants could also have fun with a Crazy88 while waiting to be picked up. Thanks so much Pascal for coordinating, and we hope to see you on the elevator again!
