Each year, via's conference committee organizes a specialized conference for its members called Awesome IT. This is where students, professionals and companies meet to talk about the collaboration between people and technology.
The organizing body behind this event is Foundation Awesome IT, and it is looking for new members for the board. Do you enjoy having an organizing role behind this beloved conference? We are looking for someone for the role of chair, and someone for the role of treasurer of the foundation. Both board members are part of the conference committee of via and work together with the via board to put together a successful edition of the conference. To this end, they are registered with the KvK (Chamber of Commerce) as directors of the foundation.
This role best suits someone who will also become coordinator of the conference committee, where you keep the overview of the general tasks. You are the bridge between the via board and the foundation. You will be responsible for signing contracts and keeping an overview of agreements made between the foundation and external parties.
The treasurer of the foundation is ultimately responsible for the finances of the conference. Budgets and plans have to go through you first, you chase payments to make sure the speakers and venue can be paid, and you work together with the treasurer of via.
